Alexis Cavin Brings Home State Championship Medal for the 400m Race
Pryor sent six athletes to the Girls State Track Competition held in Yukon, and five of the ladies brought home state medals—one a state championship.
PHS junior Alexis Cavin not only accomplished the difficult task of qualifying in all three of her events but also medaled in each event. “Alexis Cavin had a full plate as she entered the Prelims on Friday! She did her job and qualified in all three of her events for finals 100/200/400! Let’s just say that’s not easy! She ran her heart out both days but in 70 minutes she ran all 3 of her finals as they were pushing through the meet to beat the storms! She medaled 4th in the 100m, STATE CHAMPION in the 400m and medaled 3rd in the 200m!” said PHS Girls Track Coach Melissa Harlow.

Freshman thrower Lilyan Casey took 10th in state with a throw 12’ farther than any of her previous throws—she threw 111’.
Coaches Melissa Harlow, Dori Branham, Charbrice Evans, and Kristi Sickman are looking forward to working with this team next season.
